Avneet S. is an experienced transactional real estate attorney with specialized experience in land use, environmental, and municipal law. Avneet also handles business matters.

Avneet obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2002, her Masters of Arts in Legal Psychology in 2005 from Simon Fraser University, and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta, all with honors. Following law school and articling in Canada, she moved to San Diego.

Avneet then joined Lounsbery Ferguson Altona & Peak, LLP a boutique firm representing public entity, business, and real property clients on real estate transactions, land use and development, and advising on business entity formation, operation, and sale. She also served as Deputy City Attorney for San Marcos and Lemon Grove.

Avneet prepares, navigates, and protects private and public clients through all types of real property transactions, including acquisition, title review, sale and leasing; ownership structure, conditions covenants and restrictions, and management; land use entitlement and development, and compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

In addition to her legal career, Avneet has a California real estate broker’s license and is currently a Lecturer in the Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University, where she teaches business law. Avneet is past president of the Carlsbad Rotary Club and is the current Chair of the San Diego County Bar Association’s Environmental and Land Use Section (2020-2021), a member of the SDCBA’s Governance Committee, an active member of the Association of Environmental Professionals, and current Secretary for the South Asian Bar Association of San Diego.
