Our office is often asked the seemingly simple (but often misunderstood) question, “What is an Estate Plan?”
One answer is to explain each of the documents in an Estate Plan. However, in our experience, we’ve found it easier to explain the process of Estate Planning by advising that an Estate Plan will help you address the following issues:
“I want to control my property while I’m alive, take care of myself and my loved ones if I become disabled, and give what I have, to whom I want, the way I want, and when I want. Furthermore, if I can, I want to save every last tax dollar, professional fee and court cost legally possible.”
